KC Brick Lab participated in 10 different club displays, and local conventions in 2013 during our first full year as a club. During our monthly meetings we averaged 11 members per meeting.
Event Highlights (not all 2013 events listed)
22-24 March – KC Home and Garden Show (Overland Park Convention Center)
17 members created architectural designs and landscapes to show how LEGO bricks could be used to model real-world architecture.
19 May – Club display of Old West Layout at Union Station (KCMO)
11 members worked on a large LEGO old west layout with a running electric train that is on display for the public in the model train area of Union Station.
29-30 June – Maker Faire Kansas City (Union Station, KCMO)
7 members displayed original LEGO creations at the Maker Faire at Union Station. These included original creations and a replica of a Topeka Firehouse from Topeka, KS. We also had a build space for young Makers at the event to let them design and build their own original creations.
9 November – Woodneath Public Library (Kansas City, MO)
10 members of the club brought original creations to display at this Mid-Continent Public Library (MCPL) event.
15 November – LEGO Holiday City Display (Union Station, KCMO)
16 members of the club brought original creations together in a holiday themed winter across a small city.
